New Horizons: W Edinburgh is a brand-new 5-star hotel which opened in November 2023 bringing lifestyle luxury to a destination historically saturated with classic luxury. W Edinburgh sits at the heart of the St. James Quarter, a newly revitalised neighborhood in the city centre which combines world-class retail, entertainment and dining.
Inspired Design: W Edinburgh comprises three distinct buildings positioned around St. James Square: the Ribbon Building, the Quarter House and James Craig Walk. Two new and one historic, with a rich and varied, but complementary architectural presence.Conceived as a bundle of coiled ribbons, culminating in a pennant flying in the Edinburgh breeze, the Ribbon Building is designed to capture the very spirit of festivity. The bronze coloured metal ribbons - a nod to the iconic festival city.
Newly built and interlinking with the Ribbon Building, the Quarter House is also predominantly a stone façade, inspired by traditional Edinburgh architecture.
In contrast, James Craig Walk is a heritage listed terrace dating from 1775, that epitomises the character of historic Edinburgh, with its robust, honest stone façade, high ceilings, and tall sash windows.
Exceptional Suites: With 199 rooms and 45 suites, W Edinburgh offers the highest number of suites in the city. From Studio Suites to Extreme Wow Suite, many of our premium rooms and suites have outdoor terraces to take full advantage of the spectacular views thus providing more opportunity for an upgrade if available.

Located on the 10th floor of W Edinburgh in the heart of St James Quarter, SUSHISAMBA Edinburgh delivers it’s unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, culture, music and design to the Scottish capital. The dynamic interiors feature signature restaurant and bar with SUSHISAMBA iconic tree sculpture, a chef table and outdoor terrace with sweeping views of Edinburgh’s skyline.
W Lounge: W Lounge is W Edinburgh's signature all day dining lounge and bar serving a selection of small and large plates and inspired cocktails. Located on the 11th floor of the ribbon building. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the W Lounge offers incredible views over the Scottish capital and 360-degree panoramic views from the W rooftop deck.
