Villa Gallici
Aix-en-Provence is an enchanting town founded by the Roman Empire in 122 BC. It is also called Little Florence with over one hundred fountains spread throughout the historical centre of town. The city, which inspired Cesanne in many of his paintings, is 30 minutes drive from Marseille Airport Marignane; 3 hours by train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Aix TGV railway station; 1 1/2 hours drive from Nice Cote d'Azur Airport; 1 hour drive from Cannes; and 2 hour drive from Monaco.
This Italianate Villa from the XVIII century is perched on a hill just a short walk from the city center, and surrounded by an elegant Florentine garden. The Villa Gallici has 22 rooms and suites, each decorated to extravagant perfection in a "provincial boudoir fantasy" style. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, direct dialing, internet access and safe. Some rooms have private garden or terrace.
The Restaurant at Villa Gallici offers local Provencal, French and Mediterranean cuisine with a vast choice of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Provencal wines. In summer, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on the tree-lined terrace or the nearby pool; in winter, meals are served in intimate and elegant dining rooms with fireplaces. The Bar, with its cosy elegant atmosphere, offers an exquisite range of typically Provencal aperitif, Cognac, Armagnac and champagne.
