The Thief
The name “The Thief” for a hotel may sound a bit strange. We don’t know why they named it this except maybe they were alluding to the theft of Norwegian artist Edvard Munch famous painting “The Scream” It’s Oslo’s most talked about hotel and maybe Scandinavia’s. The theme is modern art and its displayed everywhere in the lobby, elevators and guest rooms. The location is prime overlooking the Oslo Fjord and a short distance from chic restaurants and bars.
The rooms are beautifully decorated with terraces and waterfront views. A tablet doubles as a device that controls the plasma TV, on demand movies and radio. We always love it when wi-fi is included in the rates and there’s an iPod docking station. The beds to are comfy King size, not usually found in Norway. Another thing you don’t see in Norway are bathrooms that are as large as the bedrooms. They all have rainfall showers.
Don’t miss the rooftop bar and terrace. It’s one of the places to see and be seen Oslo and if the drinks are over the top expensive the show is worth it. The Thief is the only hotel in Oslo to offer 24/7 rooms service. Lastly and really important is that breakfast is included in the rates and Norwegian breakfasts are one of the best things about being in Norway.
