The Reef Atlantis
Could there be a better way to wake up than by having the tropical sunrise gently breach through your floor-to-ceiling window and than walking out onto your own private terrace to enjoy it while a cool, morning tropical breeze blows through your hair? It may sound like a dream, but this is just standard procedure at The Reef Atlantis.
Studio-style guestrooms feature over 520 square feet of space, king size beds, a kitchen area, sleeper sofa, spacious baths, and best of all, private balconies showcasing enchanting Bahama views. Suites spread out from 974 to 1,718 square feet and feature two full-sized bathrooms, including a master bathroom with white marble vanity, an oversized spa tub, and a separate glass-enclosed shower. There’s also a fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining area, a washer and dryer for your convenience, and balconies offering the same views as the studio guestrooms, albeit on a larger setting. Finally, the cavernous Penthouse Suite sprawls out over 4,070 square feet and contains two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lavishly equipped kitchen that would suit a modern gourmet chef, and a spacious and well-furnished private terrace.
The Reef Atlantis enables you to experience all the fun in the sun that one would expect at a world-class tropical resort, but with the added excitement of first rate nightlife that one would only expect to find in a large, cosmopolitan city. For example, you can swim with the dolphins by day and than gamble with the 'sharks' after dark at the casino.
The Reef Atlantis offers access to The Dolphin Cay, one of the largest and most advanced artificially-made dolphin habitats in the world. Whether you would prefer to share in their playful shallow water antics or experience their remarkable speed and agility firsthand in the deeper waters, the sixteen dolphins that call The Dolphin Cay welcome you to join in their fun. Rescued after they were swept away to sea during Hurricane Katrina, these bottle-nosed dolphins were nursed back to health by marine life experts and are now living and thriving at The Dolphin Cay, where they are doing so well that their population is currently expanding, with several new calfs being born since the relocation.
After spending a day with these lovable and miraculous animals, try your luck as a card shark at the Atlantis Casino. With over 90 table games like blackjack, roulette, baccarat, Caribbean Stud Poker, and over 1,000 state of the art slot machines, The Atlantis Casino is the largest in the Caribbean. Nearby is the posh Dragons Nightclub, which offers both hot music and refreshing cocktails. Everyone from Miley Cyrus to Cindy Lauper will be performing at Dragons this summer, certifying its title as an entertainment hotspot with a cross-generational appeal.
The Marine Habitat features underwater tunnels from which you can observe over 200 species of marine life, like sharks, stingrays, moon jellies, and pirhannas. For an even closer encounter with some tropical marine life, guests can go snorkeling in the seven-acre Paradise Lagoon or off of Cove Beach, where you can actually participate in the hotel's coral reef research project. If you enjoy this, go for a longer, two-and-a-half hour excursion off of a 45-foot catamaran where an Atlantis Aquarist will serve as your knowledgable guide.
And than of course there's the Aquaventure, the centerpiece of The Reef Atlantis' recent billion dollar development, which positions Atlantis as one of the largest and most advanced water-themed attractions in the world. This unrelenting water experience consists of thrilling waterslides, a mile-long river ride containing high intensity rapids and wave surges, and never-before-seen special effects that add an extreme level of excitement to the overall experience, delivering a sensory journey unlike any other.
Careen down the Leap of Faith, a 60-foot almost-vertical drop from the top of 'The Mayan Temple' or race a friend down The Challenger Slides, which clock your speed for you just in case its a close finish. The five-story corkscrew-style Serpent Slide takes guests through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon. If these slides sound a little too exhilirating, check out The Current, a mile-long river expedition where your inner tube is propelled through a densely landscaped tropical jungle of rapids, underground tunnels, tidal waves, and slides. As an added bonus, Aquaventure is unique in that unlike traditional water parks that require participants to leave the water to climb back to the start, Aquaventure guests never have to leave the water as they are propelled back up the slide towers via water conveyors.
Seamlessly go from lounging in tropical tranquility to experiencing unparalelled excitement at the beaches, waterpark, casino, coral reef, and dolphin habitat only at The Reef Atlantis.
