The Greenwich Hotel, NYC
Tribeca

If you're looking for a luxury hotel in lower Manhattan and specifically a luxury hotel in Tribeca than the Greenwich Hotel is the only place to stay.  From the moment you enter there’s a good chance you’ll breath  a sigh of relief. It's homey ambiance and understated elegance take you away from the hectic city and allows you to view New York from a different perspective.

There are so many great restaurants in walking distance from the Greenwich Hotel that we have listed some of them on the Dining tab.

Tribeca is one of Manhattan's unique and very cool neighborhoods. The deluxe Greenwich Hotel was envisioned by actor Robert DeNiro and his partners. The hotel is personalized with paintings by DeNiro’s father and the broad palette of cultural influences evident from the Tibetan silk rugs to the Moroccan tiles.

Even the two elevators leading to guest rooms at the Greenwich Hotel have been constructed with care, featuring Italian tile floors and leather paneling. The hallways have reclaimed wooden floors and wainscoting, and doors to guest rooms are also constructed from reclaimed wood. The hallways showcase rare antiques that have been collected by the owners in their travels.

Greenwich Hotel offers 75 rooms and 13 suites that are spacious, and no two are identical. Rooms have Swedish-made Duxiana beds (the Rolls Royce of beds), Siberian oak floors, generously-sized soaking tubs, iPod docks, complimentary Internet, and organic bath amenities from McBride Beauty. Don’t be surprised to find a complimentary snack basket waiting in your room with delightful treats such as cookies and mints.

With twelve-foot ceilings and a stone fireplace the drawing room of the Greenwich Hotel,  which is off the lobby and is only accessable to hotel guests and their friends, is the perfect place to host a casual meeting or an intimate lunch. French doors lead to a lush Tuscan-style courtyard where guests can dine beneath the latticed vines during the warmer months.

Locanda Verde is the hotels venue for dining and you can enter from the lobby.  Casual neighborhood dining in this Italian tavern is right on the mark.  The restaurant is airy, bustling and high ceilinged and flooded with natural light in the daytime.  More important is chef’s Andrew Carmellini’s interpretation on Italian cooking; lamb meatball sliders with caprino and cucumber, porchetta de la Casa with Black Kale, and gigatone ala pescatora with shrimp meatballs just to name a few. Karen DeMasco, one of the city’s best pastry chefs (Craft, Gramercy Tavern), is in charge of breads, pastries and desserts. Her menu includes Spumoni ala Napolitana with Cherries; Toasted Almond Semi-Freddo; and handmade gelati and sorbetti. The wine list features reasonably priced bottles from every region in Italy; and, of course, Locanda Verde offers Moretti and other specialty Italian beers on tap. The dining room has shelves of wine and books, comfy banquets, wooden tables, and a view of the wood-burning oven and the open kitchen. In summer, Locanda Verde has outdoor cafe seating on Greenwich Street’s broad sidewalks.
