The Brazilian Court Hotel

There is no doubt that the Four Seasons and the Ritz Carlton along with the Breakers are fine Palm Beach hotels.  However, only the luxurious Brazilian Court is located right in the middle of this famed town. It is two blocks from the beach and two from the best shopping.  A car is actually not necessary when staying here.  There are other hotels in the area but the Brazilian Court has, in the past two years, gone under a renovation to bring it to it’s new chic contemporary style.  Since opening in 1926, this endearing establishment has attracted old money, celebrities and power brokers with its fine dining, tranquil courtyards and well-equipped accommodations.  The low-profile hotel comprises clusters of one-, two- and three-story buildings wrapped around three courtyards, one with an ornate fountain and tidy gardens where guests like to saunter. If you’re looking for a small boutique luxury hotel in Palm Beach we highly recommend this one.

The draped canopy makes a theatrical entrance to the luscious lobby, which shows a pinch of Emanuel Ungaro and Giorgio Armani in its retro-plantation decor. The muted color schemes are realized in soft earth tones and contrasting coral red and mustard yellow, and the custom furniture is exotic and stained in deep walnut tones. Stone floors and intricate low-relief coffered wooden ceilings balance the look.

One of the cornerstones of the hotel's appeal is the restaurant overseen by famed chef, Daniel Boulud, where a blend of Provence and the tropics provides elegant surroundings to enjoy the creative cooking. All meals are served, and guests savor views of the courtyard through French doors.

The hotel also boasts a trendy vodka bar, a library for relaxation, a spa from Frederic Fekkai and a lap pool. Sumptuous chaise lounges surround the heated pool. The courtyard setting is perfect for weddings and other formal functions.  In fact the Brazilian Court is a perfect “destination wedding” choice.

Among the room appointments are jalousies, thick, traditional-patterned fabrics, lofty duvets, interesting vase and floor lamps, armoires and fine reproduction furnishings and antiques. Studios are larger-than-average guest rooms at an average of 500 sq ft, and with wet bars and refrigerators, coffeemakers, minibars, phones with data ports and voice mail, irons and ironing boards, and robes standard. Both cable high-speed and wireless Internet access are now available.

Lovely tiled baths proffer scales and hair dryers. The least expensive of these rooms have queen beds, premier studios come with queen and king beds and the most expensive have king beds and views of the courtyard. Suites add CD players and VCRs, and the more expensive ones open to sundecks or patios.

Room service operates 24/7, daily newspaper is complimentary and pets are welcomed.  The hotels youthful staff contribute to the hotel's deluxe status.
