La Bandita Townhouse
La Bandita Townhouse is a 12-room luxury boutique hotel tucked inside the historic center of Pienza, a tiny Renaissance jewel of a village in southern Tuscany, blending in completely with the Renaissance character of the rest of the village. No exterior changes were made in the renovation, and a not a single square meter of space was added.
Inside, the lines of nuns’ cells have been replaced by 12 large guest rooms that bring together contemporary design with wood beam ceilings, parquet floors, and centuries old exposed stone walls. All the rooms have large windows onto the old lanes where village life is played out daily.
From the upper floors, there are views across the Val D’orcia to Montepulciano, Montefollonico and Monte Amiata. Common areas include a large open library with an honor bar and reading chairs and a private spa suite is available for bookings for treatments, and use of the steam bath and hot tub. Behind the property is a private walled medieval garden and vegetable garden that forms a unique oasis inside the village like a green piazza.
Eating well in Tuscany shouldn’t hard, and it shouldn’t ever be complicated. La Bandita has easy daily access to some of the freshest and most delicious ingredients in the world, and they believe a chef should shop every day and speak with diners every day.
The Townhouse Caffè is their small in house restaurant and wine bar with an open kitchen where guests can have direct interaction with the chef while he is working. The chef creates a focused daily set menu of Tuscan classics with the freshest seasonal local ingredients as well as a small list of well-crafted dishes meant to be shared. We hold regular Brunello tastings in the bar.
Over the last 6 years running La Bandita, The owners have developed a service concept that balances individual attentiveness, professionalism, and a light hearted informality. The staff is young, friendly and most important, they are local and full of tips on the best local restaurants, shops, vineyards, organic farms, hikes, and other local sites.
