Hotel Miramar Barcelona
Hotel Miramar, which first opened its doors in 2006, is one of Barcelona’s newest luxury hotels. The hotel sits atop the tall hill called Montjuïc, which rises just south of the city center. From this lofty location, guests enjoy panoramic views of the city, its harbor, and the Mediterranean Sea. Fittingly, the hotel’s name means “Sea View.”
The hotel was constructed around the Art Deco façade of a grand palace built on the site in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition. The palace was designed by the noted architect Ramon Raventós and inaugurated by Spain’s King Alfonso XIII.
Apart from its historic façade, Hotel Miramar is distinctly modern. Its interior spaces are decorated in an appealing avant-garde style, and its guestrooms include up-to-date amenities such as large flat-screen televisions, free WiFi, and iPhone® docks with speakers.
Guests can dine in the hotel’s award-winning restaurant or sip drinks on the terrace while taking in the breathtaking cityscape and seascape. The hotel also offers an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a large gym, and a spa.
Las Ramblas and other attractions in the heart of Barcelona can be reached in minutes from Hotel Miramar by car or bus, but guests will also find plenty of things to see and do on Montjuïc. The hill’s attractions include museums, numerous gardens, a 17th-century fortress, and the Olympic park where the 1992 Summer Games were held.
The 75 guestrooms in this luxurious hilltop hotel feature stylish furniture, avant-garde décor, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide spectacular views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea. Many rooms have private terraces.
At Hotel Miramar’s elegant Restaurante Forestier, diners enjoy excellent Catalan and Mediterranean cuisine along with unbeatable views. The hotel offers al fresco dining at the Pool Bar, where menu offerings include tapas, salads, and snacks.
Leisure facilities at Hotel Miramar include an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a well-equipped gym, and a spa. The surrounding area of Barcelona offers an endless variety of things to see and do, including world-class museums, the 1992 Olympic park, expansive gardens, a 17th-century fortress, and the boulevards known as Las Ramblas.
