Halekulani
Reopening in July, 2021
The Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu sits in the middle of a metropolis on the beach at Waikiki. We like to say it's the most luxurious surfing hotel in world but that, more than likely, doesn't mean you have to be a surfer to enjoy this famous Hawaiian luxury hotel. Travelers come from all over the world to experience the Halekulani for its combination of location, decor, impeccable grounds, and the welcoming and professional service.
The views unique to the Halekulani Hotel go beyond Waikiki and Diamond Head. If you're looking down from one of the many lanai's (balcony in Hawaiian) you may get a front row seat to art in motion created daily by the hundreds of surfers gliding over the ever changing colors of blue and aquamarine. That's why we refer to it as the best surfing hotel in the world. The Halekulani is so close to the sea that anyone walking along the beach must pass over the hotel's "catwalk" to reach the other side. First timers soon realize that they're suddenly center stage and being viewed by guests dining at any one the the Halekulani's three open air restaurants.
The Halekulani offers open courtyards, lush gardens, balmy ocean breezes, and the kind of service that makes each and every guest feel like a V.I.P. Guests are personally welcomed and than escorted to their rooms for an in-room check-in. Freshly cut flowers, fresh fruit, and a tray of homemade chocolates are awaiting their arrival.
The Halekulani’s guestrooms are decorated in seven shades of white. Try doing that at home! The effect here is sublime, and when combined with the view of the aquamarine color of the Pacific waters below, it is almost hallucinogenic. Guests make use of the Spacious lanais (Hawaiian terraces)which are in effect an extension to the room. A large sitting area consists of bamboo loveseats and chairs from the McGuire showroom, while glass-topped cocktail tables and marble-topped desks are also featured. Add to this modern convenience such as a 46-inch flat-screen LCD HDTV, a DVD/CD entertainment center, and complimentary wireless internet access, and you’ll see why guests keep coming back to The Halekulani. We highly recommend rooms in the Diamond Head wing for the best ocean views.
Not content to have an ordinary swimming pool, The Halekulani boasts 46-by-82 foot fresh water pool, the floor of which features a mosaic of a Cattleya orchid comprised of 1.2 million imported South African glass tiles. After the pool, enjoy world-class Waikiki Beach, where the Halekulani can arrange for outrigger canoe rides, surfing, sailing, snorkeling, and more. Halekulani also features an on-site spa, SpaHalekulani. Here, the healing culture of the Pacific Islands is fully explored. SpaHalekulani offers a full menu of massages, facial and body treatments, and hair and nail care services.
The Halekulani’s celebrated on-site restaurant, La Mer, is Hawaii’s longest consecutively ranked Triple A Five Diamond restaurant. The acclaimed menu offers neoclassic French cuisine expertly crafted and served amidst ocean views. Local ingredients are uniquely blended in dishes inspired by flavors from the south of France to produce a memorable dining experience. The Halekulani offers several other tempting dining options, like the oceanfront Orchids, which specializes in seafood like island-raised moi with hearts of palm. Or you can sip cocktails and enjoy live Hawaiian music at House Without a Key.
Waikiki Beach is one of the world’s most beautiful, and it doesn’t get much better than seeing and enjoying it from The Halekulani.
