Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is a Mediterranean gem built on the site of a splendid villa belonging to Roman Emperor Augustus. Separated from the main square of Sorrento by a beautiful five-acre private park with adult and children’s swimming pools.
Comprising three buildings, its 91 elegant air-conditioned rooms vary in size and style, from tasteful simplicity to extravagant frescoed opulence. Each has a view of the hotel’s lush gardens or over the sea to Mt Vesuvius. Our historical suites, facing the Bay of Naples, are in high demand.
Facilities include the Boutique Spa La Serra with a wide range of holistic treatments, a fully-equipped gym and a large marble swimming pool, surrounded by olive, lemon and orange trees. Open lunch time and evenings, the pool-side restaurant, L'Orangerie, has a range of fresh Mediterranean dishes, including traditional stone-oven-baked pizzas.
The hotel has two more restaurants: the elegant 19th century-style Vittoria dining room, and the contemporary Michelin starred Bosquet terrace restaurant with stunning views of the bay.
The seafront is fifty meters below the hotel and a private lift takes guests down to the harbour. There are boats for hire to explore the coastline and hydrofoil services link Sorrento with Capri, Naples, and Ischia.
