Goldeneye Resort
Located in the quiet village of Oracabessa; Goldeneye is set in rural and dramatically scenic St. Mary parish; a 20 min. drive from the resort town of Ocho Rios. Goldeneye sits on a bluff facing the blue Caribbean Sea; offering a dramatic coastline of secret coves and private beaches for you to explore and enjoy. Staying at Goldeneye puts you in an unspoiled environment where you have a window to another culture and different way of living. The nearest commercial airport is Montego Bay; however the Kingston Airport is an equally viable option. Goldeneye is a 2-hour drive from Montego Bay; 2 and a half hours from Kingston Airport.
Fleming Villa is like an island unto itself. Looking for privacy? Fleming Villa (along with its satellite cottages, Pool House and Sweet Spot) is all about privacy. Your own beach—and, of course, your own pool, gardens, and staff. Walk over to GoldenEye for a spa treatment, for sunset cocktails at the Bizot Bar, for dinner at the Gazebo. Walk back to Fleming Villa and, again, you’re secluded. Removed from it all. Really, it’s the best of all worlds—and, the very best of Goldeneye's. Of course, there’s the history. Fleming, and his character, Bond. James Bond. If these walls could talk they’d tell tales of artists and writers, spies and seducers. The romantic atmosphere is palpable. The vibe, utterly relaxing, though you may feel the inspiration that lives here, still.
Four of the Two Bedroom villas are located directly on Low Cay Beach and one is located on the lagoon. With their large porches (upstairs and downstairs), louvred windows and double doors, these private accommodations are constructed for year-round indoor/outdoor living.
Five One Bedroom Beach Villas open directly onto Low Cay Beach. The One Bedroom Lagoon Villa sits directly on GoldenEye’s four-acre signature lagoon. All feature a large porch, wooden louvred windows and wide double doors. These private accommodations invite the kind of indoor/outdoor living GoldenEye is famous for.
Each Lagoon Cottage has its own private dock extending four feet over the lagoon and a brightly colored kayak that’s tied up and waiting for you. Each cottage is built into lush natural landscape with direct access to the lagoon from your veranda. All are just steps away from Low Cay Beach.
Goldeneye's menus feature a bounty of local specialties, from Jamaican-style ackee and saltfish to spicy jerk chicken with rice and peas as well as glorious seasonal fruits and sumptuous desserts.
On the western arm of Low Cay Beach, Bizot Bar is the spot for stylish low key dining. Located just steps from the sea and fresh water swimming pool, Bizot Bar serves breakfast and lunch that includes fresh salads, yummy burgers and tasty pastas, as well as famously authentic and delicious Jamaican specialties. The Bizot Bar is named for French counter-culture connoisseur, Jean-Francois Bizot (1944 - 2007). A journalist and music tastemaker, Bizot founded Radio Nova in Paris and introduced World Music to French audiences. At Bizot Bar, we introduce you to the sounds of Radio Nova, broadcast from France.
Built in an aerie, tree house-style, the newly designed Gazebo (with lounge and restaurant) serves up dishes with an international flavor. Overlooking both Low Cay Beach and The Lagoon, the Gazebo is the sexy, open-air spot to enjoy cocktails while watching fiery Caribbean sunsets. Dishes range from grilled lobster tail to seasoned rack of lamb, complemented with an international wine list.
The four-acre Lagoon, the centerpiece of GoldenEye, was created when Oracabessa was a banana port. Today it forms a peaceful ring around Santa Maria Island and extends under the GoldenEye bridge and into the Bay. GoldenEye’s main beach, Low Cay, is 500 feet of smooth sand that’s ideal for sunning, relaxing and swimming. Our fun, fitness-focused experiences include lagoon rafting, stand-up paddleboarding and core balance and strength instruction. Guests can also mountain bike to Firefly, play tennis, or simply jog along the coast. Other uniquely inspirational and experiential activities are available, including sunset yoga, and coral restoration.
To spend time in our FieldSpa is to exist in a more mindful and peaceful tempo, a cadence that allows us to breathe more deeply, live more slowly and more fully when returning to work and home. With its lagoon's edge cottage and open-to-the air treatment rooms, spa without walls is a sanctuary for massage, salt scrubs, skin brightening facials, herbal wraps, and energy work. So built into the natural landscape, guests can kayak or swim through the lagoon to arrive at the spa. In room treatments are also available. The fieldSpa shares an approach to living that enlivens with energy, happiness, and health.
