The elegant Veranda restaurant at Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon offers park views and classical guitar music to accompany its famous breakfast and luncheon buffets. Evening meals are a la carte from a predictably impressive menu loaded with fresh seafood and traditional Portuguese spices. When the sun shines, there are few more romantic venues than the restaurant's panoramic terrace overlooking the park and cityscape views below. The Ritz Bar at Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon is well-appointed in red and black and serves everything from espresso and champagne to light meals, afternoon tea and snacks. A pianist entertains nightly except Sunday. Health-conscious fare is served by the sleek pool.
The Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon now gets nothing but praise for its upgraded and expanded recreational facilities. Although the hike up the hill from the park is a significant calorie-burner in itself, these posh facilities make working out a breeze. The spa tops the list with its saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, and superlative indoor lap pool and treatment rooms. The designers and builders created wonderfully elegant environments in which to sweat, relax and exercise, and professionals oversee the meticulously kept facilities, including the small but well-equipped rooftop gym, where floor-to-ceiling windows provide endless inspiration.
Almost all large, deluxe rooms at Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon facing the park have an updated Empire bent, and the remainder lean toward lighter and brighter classic contemporary style with baby blues, rich reds and comforting creams. Standard décor include leather-topped desks, plush carpeting, bold spreads, local antiques and generally Four Seasons-quality decor.
The standard and superior rooms at Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon, mostly on lower floors, face the busy avenue, but the slightly elevated hillside location keeps most noises at bay. The amenities list includes wireless Internet access (for a fee), multiple dual-line phones with data ports and voice mail, safes, fully stocked minibars, excellent workspace, CD/DVD players, snazzy flat-screen TVs, and thoughtfully furnished sitting areas with ottomans.
The glamorous baths at Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon feature marble surfaces, limited vanity space, separate stall showers, soaking tubs, magnifying mirrors, thick robes or yukatas, slippers, enormous bath sheets and top-shelf L'Occitane toiletries.
Double-glazed windows keep out the noise and all but 10 rooms boast enormous balconies. Two floors are reserved for nonsmokers, and room service answers the call round-the-clock.
Housekeeping at Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon works a double shift to keep guests satisfied, and the bell staff can arrange to have shoes shined at no charge overnight. Service levels are higher than at any other property in Lisbon.
