Review Amenities Virtuoso
The Fairmont Waterfront

No matter which way you turn, you can't get away from the glorious views at the Fairmont Waterfront.  Most of the rooms overlook the harbor, and provide spectacular views of enclosed port and the Coastal Mountains standing majestically beyond it, while the other rooms overlook Vancouver's vibrant city skyline.  The Signature Rooms are exceptional corner rooms which showcase a full 180 degrees of the harbor.  Two of these rooms' walls are replaced by floor to ceiling windows, providing the best of both harbor views.

All of the rooms are appointed with contemporary, airy decor, large marble bathrooms, high speed internet access, and business amenities.  While all of these rooms are fit for a king, there's one in particular that's fit for a queen; Queen Elizabeth II that is.  She stayed in the Royal Suite during her Royal Jubilee visit in 2002, and she had impeccable taste: this split-level suite occupies the seventh and eighth floors, and all-encompassing views of the harbor, mountains, park, and city center, a large private terraced balcony, a completely marble bathroom with a deep jetted soaker tub, and opulent living and dining areas that can comfortably accomodate eight guests.   Another highlight is the Garden Suite, which contains rich green and gold floral decor and access to a private terrace.  There's also a large parlor and dining area.  No matter which room you stay in, you'll be made to feel instantly welcome by the hotel's four-legged ambassadorHolly, a young golden labrador whose loves her job of enthusiastically greeting all of the hotel's guests.

The Fairmont Waterfront Health Club features a 50 foot, heated outdoor pool, steam rooms, a whirlpool, and state of the art exercise equipment.  Rather than jumping on an exercise bike however, you may be tempted to jump onto a real one at Stanley Park, which features a scenic ten and a half mile cycling route along the scenic Spanish Banks.  Stanley Park is one of the largest urban parks in all of North America, and it also contains trails for hiking, walking, and jogging, an aquarium, and tennis courts.  Other outdoor attractions include golfing at the Westwood Plateau and Country Club, easily one of the best golf courses in Canada, and world class skiing and snowboarding in the winter, with Grouse MountainMount Seymour, and Cypress Mountain all within a 45 minute drive of the hotel.  In addition, Blackbomb and Whistler, the mountains that will host many of the alpine events in the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics, are only two hours away.

After you've tired yourself out with these activities, Vancouver has a wide array of other options.  There's the cobblestone streets of Gastown, the oldest part of Vancouver, or the Rocky Mountain Rail Tours, which travels through over 600 miles of wonderful scenery along the famous railways of Western Canada.  There's the DrSun Yat-Sen Gardens, the first Chinese scholar garden of its kind to exist outside of China, and the theatres, craft shops and brewery on Granville Island.  Last but not least, the daredevils amongst us may want to take a toe-tingling walk across the 25-story high Capistrano Suspension bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world.

The hotel is directly located next to The Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Center.  This, coupled with the hotel's state of the art conference rooms and business amenities make it an ideal place to stay during a business trip, or to plan a meeting of your own.  Whether you're here for work or play, you'll find the Pacific Northwest's Vancouver to be a thriving city and the Fairmont Waterfront is at the heart of it all.
