An integral pillar of the vision of the Conservatorium Hotel is the creation of restaurant and bar areas that will not just appeal to hotel guests but will become destinations in their own right for locals and international visitors, thereby imbuing the hotel with a wider responsibility in the local culture. All dining venues at the Conservatorium Hotel are under the helm of celebrated Dutch-chef, Schilo van Coevorden, whose style of food has continuously evolved throughout the years, adapting and adopting traditions from all over the world while retaining the virtues of simplicity and focus on locality and seasonality.

The Conservatorium Hotel offers world leading spa and gym facilities at Akasha – its 1000 sqm Holistic Wellbeing Center including an exclusive indoor swimming pool, a signature spa, cutting-edge gym and a yoga studio. Offering a place where mind, body and soul rebalance, and where guests can release everyday tensions and rediscover the essence of wellbeing. Amsterdam enjoys great fame for being the proud owner of one of the most important intact historical city centers in the world. Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam, opened in 2012, is the city’s newest hotel located in the heart of the city, alongside the exclusive shopping street, the P.C. Hooftstraat. The hotel features 129 rooms and suites, unique spa facilities and will be the center of Amsterdam's rich cultural heritage and bustling daily life. Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam is bringing back the essence of this iconic building.

Conservatorium Hotel's exquisite contemporary design is created in collaboration with the management company's vision and commitment to excellence and execution, and in partnership with one of Italy's leading architects and interior designers Piero Lissoni.

Conservatorium Hotel's main emphasis will be on a new level of personalized and humanistic approach to service. Guests and local patrons will experience a variety of settings, rich in historical heritage including superior design and accommodations. Conservatorium Hotel offers exclusive dining and bar venues, an Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Center as well as events and banqueting spaces operating with leading technology. The several venues of the hotel blend sophistication and modern international style with the unique, rich and significant history of Amsterdam.

Originally founded in 1275, present-day Amsterdam is bursting with history and rife with countless museums and galleries. The city is undergoing a palpable arts-led renaissance that is feeding both local and international resurgent appetites for travel to Amsterdam.

Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam is ideally located in the heart of the city’s major museums cluster (Museumplein) and the Royal Concertgebouw, and parallel to the prestigious designer-fashion district of P.C. Hooftstraat and Van Baerlestraat, the Conservatorium Hotel offers unrivalled proximity to all of the capital’s cultural destinations. While situated in “Oud Zuid”, art lovers will be delighted by the proximity of world-class offerings from such venerated arts institutions as the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. The opening of the Conservatorium Hotel shares in the wider renewal of this world-famous cultural hub, arriving just in time to celebrate the long-awaited re-opening of the refurbished Stedelijk Museum and with the completion of the Rijksmuseum’s pivotal renovation now firmly on the horizon.

For those seeking bohemian shops, independent restaurants and cafes, or a meander in the Vondelpark, the hotel is remarkably close by. It is also just a short stroll from the charming lanes of the Jordaan neighborhood. Be it on foot or by bicycle, guests of the hotel will be able to leisurely discover the gabled houses dotting the grand canals from the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th Century while simultaneously exploring the vibrant and bustling business and design quarters nearby.

Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam occupies the famous site of Amsterdam's former Sweelinck music conservatorium. Originally built at the end of the 19th Century and conceived by the renowned Dutch architect Daniel Knuttel as the Rijkspostspaarbank Building, the construction heralded an urban regeneration of the Museumplein, an area which had been left previously derelict. Knuttel was praised for his ability to fuse simplicity and functionality, and the award-winning Milan-based furniture and interiors designer Piero Lissoni has embraced this tradition through the re-incarnation of this spectacular building 100 years later.

Against the backdrop of the building's incredibly rich history, the hotel has been consistently imbued with Lissoni's signature style. Known for his austere lines, demure fabrics and shades of grey that are occasionally dotted by the appearance of bright accents, Lissoni is considered one of the most prominent and exciting contemporary Italian designers. His clean designs are a hybrid of modernist and contemporary chic and contrast playfully with the on-going bath of natural daylight throughout the building's airy spaces. Furniture from leading Italian manufactures such as Living Divani, Kartell and Cassina sit prominently in all communal spaces while accent pieces such as vintage Asian rugs provide a sense familiar comfort.

The hotel features 129 rooms and suites, all equipped with state-of-the-art in-room technology as well as luxury linens and amenities.

Personalized attention with professional service and knowledge will be the signature service of the hotel. This approach will show the commitment to exceptional hospitality. All team members at the hotel are focused on ensuring your visit will be a truly delightful one. As part of this commitment, the hotel will assign a personal host to each and every guest.

Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam occupies eight floors with room categories ranging from superior to grand rooms. In addition the hotel offers several suites. All rooms and suites include double glazed windows and range in size from 30 m2 to a spacious 170 m2. Paying homage to the building’s original lofty ceilings, almost half of the rooms have been transformed into stunning duplex layout with large windows and exposed structural beams.

This unique spa facility offers a great extra pleasure for guests of the Conservatorium Hotel. The venue is split into different areas which are in alignment with the four elements to ensure comprehensive restoration and rejuvenation. ‘Earth’ stands for the lounge that provides freshly prepared organic sandwiches and juices; ‘Water’ is the main spa, featuring sound, music and aroma therapies, an exclusive Watsu pool and special hammam treatments. ‘Fire’ is the gym, fitted with the most up to date equipment including Life Fitness® equipment and a Kinesis Personal from TechnoGym; ‘Air’ is a calming, peaceful space for yoga classes.

The lap pool measuring 18m x 5m provides an oasis of calmness and serenity within the comfort of the indulgent simplicity of Lissoni’s design. We are delighted to welcome our junior hotel visitors under guidance of an adult from the age of 3 to 16 in our in our swimming pool from Monday to Sunday between 10.00 hrs – 11:30 hrs and between 14:00 hrs – 15:30 hrs.
