Como Shambhala is an authentic ‘luxury’ Bali experience that maintains an air of authenticity. If you’re squeamish about the shower being outside then maybe this is not the place for you. However, if you have even an ounce of discovery in you you’ll love it. Who wouldn’t enjoy the experience of taking a shower in total privacy (maybe a monkey will spot you) surrounded by thick jungle and with the sound of rushing water from the river below. The W/C is also outside but you don’t have to walk far as it’s a door away from the main section of the bath where the sink and tub is located. The adjacent room has a king bed surrounded with masses of netting. You can still close most of the room off and turn on the quiet A/C. There’s a large screen TV with many of the world stations. The doors can be opened in the daytime to give you even more of that feeling of being a part of the surrounding jungle. The private outdoor covered terrace is perfect for breakfast or any meal for that matter since room service is 24/7.
The grounds are mature and beautiful and meticulously maintained. If you’re a horticulturist you’ll be loving it! All the public areas are stunning and the service, like the rest of the hotel, is low-key and personable.
Each Individual accommodation is part of a villa compound where all the accommodations are separate structures that share one living and pool area. There are many combinations depending on the number of persons. Most importantly is how two persons occupying one accommodation in a villa compound will still experience total privacy. You can use the pool that is part of that villa compound or the hotels main pool. If you’re a family requiring 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms Como Shambhala is ideal. Dining at the Estate is flexible and easy, with various options available to suit different moods and tastes. COMO Shambhala focuses on nutrition to maximize personal performance by increasing concentration, energy levels and addressing blood-sugar imbalances. Como Shambhala even has a nutritionist who will assesses your diet during an initial wellness consultation. COMO Shambhala Cuisine – designed to maximize energy and wellbeing with the use of raw, organic foods rich in vitamins and living enzymes – is available on all the Estate’s menus.
The contemporary, open-sided, all-day dining restaurant features beautifull presented and delicious cuisine. There's an open kitchen, so you can even watch your food being prepared. The menu can easily be discussed and changes made according to your individual dietary needs. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all offer a quiet gourmet dining experience.
The Estate offers different bodywork routines that improves not just body, but mind and spirit. All are available to you on the Estate's complimentary daily Schedule, including an enlivening morning walk through the local landscape, as well as Yoga. Mountain bikers can choose from gentle cruises along easy backroads to a bash down muddy tracks and rough village byways, detailed on Activities Planner. Trails are mapped by staff. The therapies at the Estate are delivered by expert staff who are trained in specific modalities, from Ayurveda to hydrotherapy. Many of the treatments are Asian-inspired, paired with cutting-edge advances in holistic healthcare.
The Estate is located 15-minutes from Ubud, the town regarded as Bali's cultural hub. Transportation is easily arranged but you may never want to leave the 23 acres that make up a true paradise in Bali.
