The luxury resort of Cala de Mar Resort & Spa Ixtapa is located on the Pacific coast of Mexico about 200 miles north of Acapulco. This is resort for the 21st century has luxury hotel suites that combine beautifully the dramatic ruggedness of the Mexican coast with all the modern amenites that this century offers.
Guest rooms and suites range in size from 550 to 1150 square feet. All have terraces and individual plunge pools. However, they are also equipped with a central computer system with controls for room functions such as music (bring your ipod), climate control and lighting.
When you are outside you are part of the Mexican Pacific coast that is filled with idyllic small bays and beaches that have made the area legendary. The cliff side setting features breathtaking ocean views in a romantic secluded setting. The weather here to cooperates more then anywhere else, and especially in the northern hemisphere winter months.
The town of Zihuatanejo is very close but you just may not want to leave Cala de Mar Resort & Spa Ixtapa. The fine dining room, A Mares, is open nightly for dinner and serves local Mexican cuisine. Las Rocas, a rustic seafood restaurant, offers alfresco dining over the shoreline. Additionally, lunch and dinner are served at the multilevel Terrace Bar. Guests may also choose 24-hour room service or ask the resort to arrange a romanitc dinner experinece at a unique, on-site location.
The Spa at Cala de Mar Resort & Spa Ixtapa measures 6,000 sq ft and is the region's only full-service spa, wellness and fitness facility. It features six individual treatment rooms and a couples' treatment room with a rain shower and whirlpool.
Cala de Mar Resort & Spa Ixtapa is within close proximity to two 18-hole championship golf courses. Golf and other off-site activities can be arranged by the hotel's Personal Assistant service.
