Belmond Safaris
Belmond Safaris is comprised of three unique safari camps in Botswana - all offering unparalleled opportunities to view multiple species of big game and bird life in their natural habitat.
Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge
In the heart of the Chobe National Park, sometimes referred to as the elephant capital of the world, is the Savute- an area that personifies the eternal contrast of Africa.Perched on the former banks of the now dry Savute Channel, the Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge offers a spectacular bird’s eye view of elephant in their natural habitat. The Savute is a dramatic area which is home to high concentrations of elephant and lions.Prides up to 40 strong are not uncommon, as are sighting of all the other major predators; the endangered wild dog, leopard, cheetah and the hyena.Savute is also renowned for its excellent birding during the summer months (December through March), as well as being home to some very rare rock paintings drawn by the early San Bushmen, who once inhabited the region. Belmond Eagle Island Lodge
Belmond Eagle Island Lodge has reopened as the ultimate Okavango Delta water- & experience-focused safari lodge, unveiling a sleek new look after an almost total rebuild. Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is one of Botswana’s original safari lodges, perched on a private island encircled by some of the deepest stretches of the Okavango Delta, one of the world's largest inland water systems and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The lodge is decorated to reflect an explorer’s base. Design highlights in the twelve spacious deluxe tented rooms include oversized beds with views of the delta, large outdoor decks with a vista, private plunge pools, luxurious bathrooms with large tubs, indoor & outdoor showers, a relaxation and reading nook, and walk-in wardrobes. Fully rebuilt public areas include a stylish dining area with a pizza oven, a lounge area with an artisan-style bar, a library, a separate campfire area and the Fish Eagle Bar which is located directly on the water. Local artisans and materials were used throughout the renovations. The lodge offers a variety of essentially water-focused safari activities including motorboat safaris, barge cruises, mekoro safaris (a local canoe), fishing, as well as walking safaris and the ultimate air safari experience by helicopter – a highlight of any guests’ stay! There is an abundance of bird and aquatic wildlife around the lodge, complemented by larger mammals such as elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, as well as the ever elusive big cats that have made this island their home.
