Beau Rivage Geneva
Beau-Rivage is more than just a luxury hotel located on the renowned Quai du Mont-Blanc in Geneva. It is a building steeped in history and tradition – a place that has outlived Centuries and eras, as well as the many historical figures that have called it its home away from home in the past. Today, after having undergone an exterior facelift, it still stands tall and proud, overlooking the calm waters of Lake Geneva.
Founded by Jean-Jacques Mayer in 1865, Beau-Rivage still remains in the hands of its founding family today – a factor that has surely enabled it into staying true to its tradition and charm. Its historic walls have many stories to tell: Elisabeth, the former Empress of the Austro-Hungarian empire, died within one of its suites, while in 1918, the hotel’s Masaryk salon played host to the signing of the creation of Czechoslovakia. Since the 1st of November 2016, Mr Alexandre Nickbarte, our CEO and member of Mayer - Nickbarte family, took also the role of General Manager.
Aside from its historical significance, the hotel lives up to its reputation in every way imaginable. Gourmet enthusiasts and those with taste-buds of the more refined variety, will find that Beau-Rivage is the home of Le Chat-Botté restaurant, one of the finest gastronomic venues in the city, completely renovated last december. French, contemporary cuisine is skillfully orchestrated by Chef Dominique Gauthier, with one Michelin star and 18/20 Gault et Millau points. At the chef’s side, wine enthusiasts can happily relish the suggestions of Sommelier and restaurant director Vincent Debergé who has the solid walls of Beau-Rivage’s wine cellar at his disposal and the many treasures that have been accumulated there over many years.
Being bathed in light is a recurring theme at Beau-Rivage, as guests will notice when enjoying their summer breakfast at the terrace La Volière with astonishing views over the Mont Blanc and the Lake : Another exceptional experience that is an absolute must in Geneva.
Yet probably the most memorable experience that can be made during a stay at this grand hotel, is that of waking up in the morning to the rush of sunlight that seeps in through the large, floor to ceiling, balcony type windows of its suites that offer panoramic views of the lake. All its rooms, and suites are furnished with original, antique furnishings while being equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and technology at the same time. After its 150th anniversary, Beau-Rivage reinvents itself yet again. Brand-new spectacular rooms with magnificent views facing the lake and suites up to 2690ft with the best views of the old town or the Geneva harbor. The hotel masters the harmony between its memorable classic atmosphere and a vibrant modern touch. A far cry from the somewhat cold, minimalism that is so fashionable for the modern luxury hotels of today.
With almost 150 employees for 90 bedrooms Beau-Rivage does invests in the quality of service that strives to provide to its guests.
A stay at Beau-Rivage is an experience of the special kind not only for history lovers but for everyone that wants to get a taste for what makes Geneva one of the cities with the highest quality of life in the world.
