This luxury property unites three historic buildings that are in turn classical, Renaissance and baroque in style. The oldest of these, the baroque building, dates to 1737. All have been connected seamlessly within a modern structure, and there is little in the interior that denotes their past. Arrivals enter an elegant, modern foyer ornamented with glass art pieces and dramatic floral arrangements. Works by noted Czech artists adorn the public areas. Guests can relax in stylish environs on sofas in the lobby or in the popular piano bar.
One of the finest hotel restaurants in Prague, Allegro specializes in Italian cuisine and serves guests on the lovely terrace in good weather. An a la carte breakfast featuring Bohemian cheeses and sausages begins at 6:30 am; guests who rise early are greeted with coffee and tea in the lobby. The Allegro Bar is adjacent to the restaurant and serves drinks until 1 AM.
The large fitness center is well equipped with top-of-the-line cardiovascular machines (each with its own TV monitor), free weights, separate saunas for men and women, and two massage rooms. All units are furnished in contemporary style against a sophisticated palette of sienna and emerald green. The trademark Four Seasons beds are piled high with linens, pillows and fluffy duvets. Desks are large, minibars are stocked, and safes are roomy enough for laptop computers. TVs and phones are in all rooms, and wireless high-speed Internet access is available.
Suites add DVD players and fax machines. Marble-clad combination baths are fitted with deep tubs and separate WC’s. The towels are oversized, and the Occitane toiletries are verbena scented. Many rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows. The best of these afford views of the river and Prague Castle, a lovely sight when illuminated at night. Five out of the hotel's six floors are smoke-free, and there are two wheelchair-accessible rooms. The 24-hour room service is prompt and courteous.
